Endometriosis is a disease that occurs in 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. In this disease, the cells of the inner layer of the uterine wall grow beyond it, which leads to tissue inflammation, pain, and infertility.
In a recent study, researchers from the University of Iowa concluded that the risk of endometriosis is reduced by 39% in those women who have an increased body weight.

Experts analyzed the data of 116,430 nurses aged from 25 to 42 years. In the process of analysis, specialists took into account the height, weight, waist circumference and hips of women, the presence of bad habits, the use of oral contraceptives, the age during the first birth.
It turned out that the risk of endometriosis in those women who suffered from obesity was 39% lower than in women with normal or low weight.
The results of this study, doctors advise to perceive as preliminary, for a deep study of the risk group for endometriosis requires additional experiments.
