For the accuracy of the study, the total family income, ethnicity, family composition, and the level of education of mothers were taken into account. In families where the mothers were, first of all, healthy, the children were less likely to get sick.
This proves that the health of the mother directly affects the child. It also affects the stress that parents experience because of poor health.
