So summer is coming to an end, parents are on vacation and their children’s holidays, autumn is coming ... And together with autumn, for some, there is an inevitable obligation to go to school. It is especially exciting when a child goes to school for the first time in the first grade. Therefore, at the end of August, parents frantically begin to think about what, where and how much to buy in order to fully equip the expensive child to the beginning of the school season. At the same time, it is important not only to buy everything, but to buy everything as convenient and proper as possible from the point of view of the future student’s health. This is also important because the health of current students and so is not all right. So why aggravate him with a wrong knapsack or shoes?
And what is behind your back?
Gone are the days when the school went with a frost-knit leatherette satchel with unregulated straps, like twenty years ago. Now it is time for schoolbags with an orthopedic back and various patterns in the style of star wars, Formula 1 or Lego heroes.
The orthopedic back is not just a tribute to fashion. It is very easy to bend the spine of a first grader with a load that is incorrectly distributed over it in the form of a shapeless backpack with heavy books, notebooks, and even a shift and physical training form. Therefore, it is better not to save on a good knapsack, as the child’s load at the back will be decent for a long time at the desk. And go to the fashionable soft backpacks before the fourth class is not worth it.
But even in a good satchel with an orthopedic back you can not put weight, more than 10% of the weight of the student. Excess of this proportion, according to doctors, leads to a curvature of the spine and a violation of posture, back pain and deterioration of the motor apparatus.
What to wear and shod a student?
In some schools, children are dressed in uniforms. This has its pros and cons. The advantages are that the class stratification of society will be less noticeable; there is no need to constantly spend money on buying clothes for school. The downsides are that the design of the school uniform is also far from perfect, as it was during the school childhood of the parents. And also the fact that the material from which the form can be sewn, is not quite hygienic and natural. If there is no form in school, then it is better to dress the child entirely in natural cotton so that he does not sweat so much during the tumultuous games at recess. And if the form is, then under a synthetic jacket, you must wear a shirt made of cotton.
But the shoes, unfortunately, the school administration does not issue children. Therefore, the purchase of replacement shoes will have to do parents. It should be lightweight and comfortable shoes, breathable, from natural materials, with a minimum of seams and preferably with velcro. The sole must be sufficiently flexible, non-slip, and inside the pads, the instep must be present.
In such shoes your baby's feet will not sweat and rub. If the shoes are fastened with velcro, then it will be quite easy for a child to take off and change his shoes. This, by the way, is important, because they don’t like bugs in school.
The most significant blow to the family budget will be the purchase of a desk and chair for the future student. Children's furniture is generally far from cheap, and good, beautiful children's furniture immediately rises in price. Therefore, the choice of a children's workplace must be approached wisely.
First of all,it is necessary that the materials from which the table is made are environmentally friendly and meet the necessary standards. To verify this, you need to carefully examine the certificate of the product. This is especially true for products from chipboard or MDF.
Secondly,The height of the table and chair should be adjusted so that the child’s elbows are free to lie on the table, the back is touching the back of the chair, and the legs bent at the knees at a right angle are on the floor or on the stool. And the distance from the eyes to the book or notebook should be equal to the length of the arm from the elbow to the hand. Then the posture and vision of your child is not threatened by the preparation of homework.
Since the growth of the student tends to change rapidly, there is not much point in buying a new chair every year or two. It is better to buy an expensive quality chair, adjustable in height.
When arranging the purchased furniture in the room, mom and dad must remember that good lighting is the key to a child’s good vision. Therefore, it is better to set the table by the window so that the light falls on the left side (for left-handers - on the right).
During the day we were very tired ...
Many parents forget about the importance of the daily routine when a first grader adapts to school. But a clear day regimen allows the child’s body to fully relax and, accordingly, fully learn.
After school, it is highly desirable for a first grader to sleep during the day, since, due to unaccustomed behavior, the child’s body will be very tired. Be sure to allocate the child a certain time for outdoor games, walks and homework preparation. Just need to remember that homework in the evening before bedtime should not be prepared. After all, the child is already tired at the end of the day, and this will surely affect the quality of work - clerks, blots, just the wrong answers will wander from notebook to notebook. It is better for the child to do homework in the middle of the day.
It is important to put the child to bed no later than 9 pm, and lift it in the morning so that the child can have breakfast, do exercises and finally wake up before the lessons. Because the unasked child will safely sleep the first two lessons in school.
Full rest for the night can only be on a bed with a good orthopedic mattress. And not on the couch, sofa or cot. Parents sometimes downplay the importance of a correct mattress and believe that this is the lot of the rich and is a mere whim. However, the child’s back is one, and since we spend a third of our lives in a dream, the influence of the mattress’s “orthopedicism” should not be underestimated.
If all of these conditions are met when purchasing uniforms and equipment for the school season, then we can assume that the parents did everything to prevent the first-grader from having health problems. And the child will be able to direct all his energy to adapting to school and obtaining new knowledge.
