First of all, it is important to understand what dimensions the building material has. So, single brick from ceramics  the most common. It is used mainly in order to build foundations, walls, and for both the internal and external parts of economic structures, etc.
In accordance with the established GOST number 839473, the dimensions of the working brick are clearly established. Its length is 25 cm, height 6.5 cm, and width 12 cm. At the same time, such parameters of one unit of material allow to lay the brick in any way, even along, even across.To speed up the process of building a building, you can use a one and a half brick size, the dimensions of which are 250 * 120 * 138 mm. Also the double size of a brick is double  250 * 120 * 138, mm. But this type of brick has a rather low level of strength and is not recommended for construction of the foundation or lower parts of buildings.
In order to understand what volume a brick block has, the length is multiplied by the width, and if you use an ordinary brick, then:
0.25 * 0.12 * 0.065 = 0.00195 cub. M.
Further, 1 cubic meter is divided into the resulting number. The result is:
1 / 0.00195 = 512.82. Accordingly, rounding the result, it turns out 513 units.
Similarly, the calculation is made of a halfsize brick in one cubic meter:
0.25 * 0.12 * 0.088 = 0.00264 cubic meters, then divide one by this result and get 379 units.
Calculate the number of double bricks in a similar way:
0.25 * 0.12 * 0.138 = 0.00414 cubic meters, one is divided by the result and we get 242 units.
Considering the length and height of each block of masonry, it is also necessary to add the thickness that the mortar occupies. The seam is 1.5 cm in thickness. If we consider an ordinary brick, the dimensions will be:
a) length: 0.25 + 015 = 0.265 m;
b) height: 0.088 + 0.015 = 0.103 m.
Calculation of the 1st brick cube:
0.12 * 0.265 * 0.103 = 0.00327 cu. m
Next, divide one by the result and get  305.81 units.
If you count the number of double bricks per cubic meter of masonry, consider the seam thickness of 1.5 cm. The height of the double block will be 0.138 + 0.015 = 0.153 m, and its length will be 0.25 + 0.015 = 0.265 m.
Brick will be:
0.12 * 0.153 * 0.265 = 0.00486 cu. m, then one divide by our result and get the amount  206 (units).
Therefore, knowing how many bricks are in one cubic meter, you can easily calculate the required amount of material for the work, as well as make a detailed estimate.
